Few Custom features are going to be added and announcing it formally as have closed the assignment with a developer who specializes on XF S/W custom add ons. Here's what has been finalized, going by the funds constraints at the moment so have to get things done phase wise:

What will come in immediately:
  1. Ability to add/update/view blood sugar readings and macros (C/P/F). Keeping provision for FBS, PPBS1, PPBS2, RBS3, RBS4, RBS5, C, P F. RBS = Random Blood Sugar. RBS 5 is > 5hr number. Only manually typing the values will be possible here.
  2. Ability to add/view/update -- no delete of data added allowed. If it is entered wrong, it can be updated as many times as one would like to
  3. Ability to add/view/update LIPIDS data whatever non computed values come on medical reports. Only manually typing the values will be possible here.
  4. Ability to add/view/update LFT data whatever non computed values come on medical reports. Only manually typing the values will be possible here.
  5. Ability to add/view/update KFT data whatever non computed values come on medical reports. Only manually typing the values will be possible here.
  6. Payment Gateway to deal with INR Payments.
  7. Quick link will be available in the User menu card for easier access. This is proposed and not final yet
  8. Everything will be linked with the user/group permission system in XF
  9. Added provision for logging BP data on suggestion from arun kumar
  10. Added pre_meal number logging. This was missed.
  11. Modified Macro part of logging to Net Carbs, Proteins, Fat, Fiber, Sugar on suggestion from Recyan . This we are suggesting to have drop down selection so that manual error while typing for these columns is eliminated.
  12. Added Meal Selector to specs. Prev Night Dinner (applicable for FBS), BF/Pre Lunch Snacks/Lunch/Pre Dinner Snacks/Dinner.
  13. Filter by Date, Filter by meal or both on the Blood Sugar view mode.
  14. Filter by Date on others in View mode.
  15. Data only accessible by user and no one else.
  16. Update of data allowed only for 48 hrs after creating it. After that it's locked out. Necessary as we would have report engine developed some day and we do not want users to be updating data post report generation. Any error on entry has to be fixed within 48 hrs of creating the record.
  17. Adding provision to save LAB BSL data which includes FBS/PPBS/RBS/FINSULIN/PINSULIN/FCPEPTIDE/PCPEPTIDE/A1C. Not sure how much the costs would go up because of this as this is a NEW requirement. Lab and Self testing data will be separate tables as structure is different -- Added on 3rd December 2017.
  18. Exercise/Cal burner. This will include weight logging, activity logging, calories burned (computed), RHR (Resting Heart Rate) and PHR (Peak Heart Rate). This was earlier planned to be part of Conversion Tools but moved it out as Conversion Tools part we have decided to keep it pending for future. Cal burn will be based on METS data for various activity. Added on 5th December
What will come once we have data of at least 100 users -- developer's insistence -- for at least 150 days as real world data is needed for developing and testing entire gamut of possibilities, specially under load to benchmark server hardware needs as we grow. Basically we need around 50,000 records spread across 100 or more users. Data processing/computations will need lot of juice:
  1. Reporting engine development for generating graphs, statistical charts etc
  2. Ability to export report as PDF. This will need even designing the pdf layout before we can even get a quote.
  3. Automated thread generation for each of the parameter for each user in a given forum where only system can post new thread and users will continue discussions. These forums (one for each variable) will only be open for subscription members.
What has been left out because of security reasons:

No provision for CSV Import. Dev insisted that users should not be given control of bulk data uploads for security reasons, as it is a blind insert and no real checks can be done on what data is being uploaded.

What had to be left out because of "shooting over the budget" even after stretching it quite a bit:

Conversion tools. Had to drop this with a heavy heart for now :(
Still trying to negotiate if we could just get "ONE" of the ten that we had in mind. Anyways, this will come in at some stage later for sure.

WE will have to do the schema design and handover the new db tables to the dev for coding.

This will only be available under the Paid Access Model to be announced soon!
Moderators will have access to everything by default!

Hope no party spoilers to delay things aka Force majeure clause. One dev disappeared mid way so had to spend time in locating another one. This one is 4X more expensive. All $$$ quotes.

Thyroid panel, Cardiac Risk Markers can be included apart from pancreatic enzymes Lipase/Amylase
In fact, original plan was just to have BS but we added few more.
Going forward, we need data points to get to second stage -- Charting/Trends/Statistics etc and BS readings would be the fastest growing. It would be difficult to get more than 4 records/year for other things or even 1 per year and if someone is like me, then none in 4+ years. But, I still measure BS 100+ times year

For everything else, I think we can look at offering storage (private and not public) space to upload and keep their medical reports (pdf/jpg/gif). This would cover for situations like loss due laptop/desktop crash and no backup, hard copy feasted by termites/mice or kept somewhere and can't recall, damaged due to water spill, fire etc etc. Along with each such document, provision to enter details like Date of Test, Ref By, Lab, Cost. Yes, nothing of this would be under Free Access. Would this work?

Ye button chalu karo.
One thing that I am still interested to get is following:

Exercise & Calorie Burn based on METS data (already have compiled data for around 80 different exercises) and user be able to compute and save the record and then edit that record to include weight if measured on that day. This is for "OBESITY" candidates as they can have their weight history data too. So this, and whatever we have already assigned, will cover Diabetes, Obesity crowd. Also, with Macro intake data (in BS section) and exercise cal burn, it would address the CICO crowd.

Let's see how much of a quote is given just for this and exclude all the conversion tools (mg to mmol etc) for the moment.
Maybe some day later we incorporate all this. We already have the A1C to BS compiled as XL sheet and posted. We can perhaps take the same route of inter-unit conversion as a workaround.

Will it be Ok if we include this in the same form where Sugar/Macro will be entered? We can avoid any additional costs this way. If this is ok then would you want separate fields for S and D? Just asking because users otherwise may enter all random format if S/D is in same column and that can mess up the system.

I think more data panels you add, will create a lot more work to maintain and generate reports. We should limit to what impacts Type 1 and Type 2 BS numbers alongwith BP, Cholesterol, LDL, HDL, TGs. That should be it, I know there are so many other issues but do they have relevance to or impacted by LCHF? If they do, only then we should consider those. Just my 2 cents..

Yes, that was the basis of deciding and limiting to Blood sugar, LIPIDS, LFT,KFT. BP we added on suggestion as that would not impact the cost.

Also a suggestion, may or may not be a good idea; can we partner with some of the diabetic related manufacturers to get some funding and special product discounts ? For example, diabetic meters, Ashwagandha makers, VCO manufacturers. The idea is to promote those that we have experimented with and trust their products will help users here. I am sure other members have numerous ideas about this as I am not very familiar with Indian markets now. However, we need to be careful not to make this site as a marketing tool for some companies. Also as suggested considering donation button would be a great idea...

At this stage, no. Reason being, we don't want them to be on a commanding stage when on negotiating table. Also, as you rightly said this site should not become a marketing tool for them. At some stage, we may contact them to run Give Away campaigns, contests same as what Merit VCO and Prabhuraman did.
Giveaways, Contests & Offers For dLife Members

Screen real estate not to be polluted with third party banners. Let us grow to such a stage that we become the most feature loaded ONE STOP destination for Indian diabetics around the globe and along the course get noticed by companies that make /market items that we need and contact us. Baby steps, self funding and success of things being added will surely take us there. Will wait patiently till that day comes :)

If the current modus operandi/plan fails to get us where we want to be, then we look at plan B.
