Its almost 1 year since I was diagnosed and it was terrifying for me to see my numbers(A1c 12.9). Frankly speaking when my doctor told me about that, I had no idea what does it mean.

But yes it changed my life completely and it did change it for good.

Got my results yesterday and A1c is 5.5, so last three a1c are 5.4, 5.7 and 5.5. Other results are good as well.
The only thing I am worried about is my LDL(Bad Cholesterol) which is 131.

Since my last 3 A1c's are withing the normal range, is it a right time for me to stop taking meds? I am currently on Janumet(10mg/1000mg) 1 pill a day.

Also Please let me know how can I control my LDL what all should I avoid in my diet. Will LCHF have impact on my Cholesterol?

    Congratulations on your numbers.
    Switch to MF SR.
LDL - not to worry as LDL alone means nothing.
There's no such thing as good or bad cholesterol as such.

    What's your triglycerides and HDL?

    Good results @Prateek

Tiglyceride to HDL ratio should be 2:1 or lower than that as a higher one denotes insulin resistance.
As you continue with LCHF, the ratio can come down.
Can also take Niacin 500mg twice a day to boost HDL.

If you are worried then get your lipid subfractions checked and if possible oxLDL. Also hsCRP, LP-PLA2, homocysteine and lp(a).
