Fenugreek seeds are known to increase Insulin sensitivity...However they act on various bodily glands....(stimulating effect) fenugreeks seeds are included in lactating mother for the same reason to reduce insulin resistance which they aquire during pregnancy and increase lactation...
For me I was also happy ..however after some time my TSH levels gone up....almost to Hypothyroid level... and immediately after stopping them they came back to normal...
One thing I must add here that during one surgery I have lost my half thyroid some 17 yrs ago...
No thyroid problem during those 17 yrs... or after stopping fenugreek seeds...
Black cumin seeds I am not sure...does that means Nigela sativa???or kalounjee??
Islamic texts praise kalounjee lot...The Prophet Muhammad said in his divine wisdom about the Black seed "Use this Black seed, it has a cure for every disease except death". (Sahih Bukhari)
May be @shashikantiyengar will be able to tell u more..as IIRC he was using kalounjee oil some time back...

    Bhai
Sunflower seeds... consumed in very less qty . That too not daily .. but imagine how much seeds goes into making oils

Also it's easier for me to take a teaspoon of BSO instead of chewing the seeds

I had been consuming 1 TBSP fenugreek powder for more than a year, but, found no further drop in my BS readings.

Now,I have started taking crushed garlic, early morning with 1 1/2 glass of water and stopped fenugreek powder (though I know the latter is for improvement in hypertension and cholesterol).

Fenugreek is known to interfere with absorption of iodine, so not advisable to under active thyroid.
