@arun kumar you can create a separate thread for asanas and shared your experience it will help all members to encourage doing Asana.
I practiced asanas in between age 15 to 20 disconnected.
After dedicated diabetic restart but failed.

    @Prabhuraman
Before I joined Job I was very regular with Asana, but due to my job which involves lot of journey, it was not possible.
But since 2002, I again started Prayanam and one or two Asana.
BTW both Asana and Prayanama work good on LCHF.
There are many members in this forum who know more than me regarding asana and prayanama.

The bodyweight squats he mentions work your thigh muscles.
It's the most well known exercise for the thighs.

For the back, as ustad @arun kumar said, look at bhujanga & dhanur asan.
    Also paschimottan, padahasta & yogamudrasan.
If your body is really flexible, chakrasan & halasan.

But in yoga, you should do asan in pairs.
If one asan bends the back forwards,
the next one should bend it backwards.
    So ask a good teacher.

And, a word of caution: If you have any history of back injury, slip disc,
genetic spinal problems such as spina bifida etc, it will be very safe
to seek advice of a doctor before resorting to any yoga asanas.

Even Certified yoga teachers will advise you to do that first.

@P N Chandra is absolutely right.
Keep in mind that allopathic doctors may scare you about halasan etc.
But good yoga teachers know which asans are good for which ailments
and which asans should not be done by people with certain ailments.
So learn from such teachers or at least from their books.

Bhai 21st June will be International Yoga Day....Modijee is big fan of Yoga..Some ppl sayshe knows some secret yoga techniques during his stay in Himalaya.
May be he will give us some tips on that day..
    here is his msg

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day.

Yoga to be learned by one of the teacher itself. This is not simply bend the hands and legs upward or backward. This is a systematic course just like PUC Degree Master degree and certificate course etc. For our self use for health purpose you may search near your place any camp for 10days or 21 days etc may be performed by any organization. if not possible nearby search any teacher of yoga and take training from him for at least 1 month. then he given the basic of yoga and most of daily practice Astana.
For daily our use for health purpose he may given tips of important some asanas and how to perform it in easy step by step.
Otherwise you can try inseeing TV most of them have the problems of @Anup Singh
However good athletics and sportmen may larn in TV itself.yoga.
